Culture and Service at cred: A Spring Recap

In between organizing events and securing speaking opportunities for our clients, here at cred, we always make sure to have fun and find new ways to give back to the community.

While we are only four months into the year, two of our teams—Culture Club and credService—have been busy putting together activities for our credians to enjoy. Let’s take a look back at how we’ve enjoyed the show so far this year.

Culture Club

Goal Setting +  Wellness Webinar
To kick off the year with a productive and positive mindset, we had a seminar led by certified health coach, Annie Marinchak. During the class, we were guided through a quick yoga flow, goal setting and finished with a visualization style meditation. Our team loved the clear structure Annie set for goal setting.

For each goal we wanted to achieve, we learned to consider:

  1. How would I feel if I achieved this goal?

  2. What would it look like if I achieved this goal?

  3. What would be the best part of achieving this goal?

We left feeling motivated and inspired to take on the year ahead!

Valentine’s Day
One of our main goals as a team this year is to make sure we’re optimizing for a hybrid team through our social activities, so that everyone is included and gets the most out of the event. For example, this Valentine’s Day we had separate activities for remote folks and those who are in person in the office. Here’s how we broke it down:

  • Remote: For our fully remote team we did a “Secret Cupid,'' where we each were assigned a credian and sent them a Valentine’s Day greeting card. We also did a love-themed DTL (Drink, Talk, Learn) PowerPoint party where each presenter shared for 3 minutes about the topic of their choice!

  • In-person: For our in-person team, we had a Valentine exchange and everyone brought treats to share with one another. We watched “Set It Up” and munched on Valentine’s snacks from Trader Joe’s.

Plant Potting + Painting

In the spirit of Spring, cred rang in the season of renewal with a group activity via Zoom—plant potting and painting! Everyone was mailed a mini flower potting kit complete with terra cotta pots and acrylic paints! We took an hour out of our busy days to unwind and get creative. Who knew we had so many artists on the team?!

cred’s 7th Birthday
Rounding out April, cred came together to celebrate our 7th birthday as a team. We celebrated 70s style at credHQ with the entire team and their plus-ones. Dancing, eating, and drinking the night away was so much sweeter after the past two years! Not to mention, we also celebrated and cheered to to the 7-year crediversary (work anniversary) of our amazing CEO + Founder, Caitlin!

credService

For our first service opportunity of the year, we volunteered with the California Native Plants Society. Their mission is to save California’s native plants and places using both head and heart.

We headed out to Bernal Heights Park in San Francisco and got to work picking weeds and wild radish. Wild radishes are invasive to the surrounding native plants, so we made sure to get into the weeds and leave the park radish free.

This year, one of our team goals is to work toward making an impact on our environment, so this was a great opportunity to start off the year and we can’t wait to continue volunteering!
