Event Spotlight: Silicon Slopes Summit 2023

Last week, the cred team packed our bags and traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, where we volunteered and attended the Silicon Slopes Summit — a two-day event on Sept 27-28 bringing founders and leaders from some of the best-known business and tech companies in the world. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a business leader, or simply interested in learning more about the industry, the Silicon Slopes Summit was the place to be.

This year’s agenda featured the brightest minds in business and technology. Keynote speakers included some of the most influential leaders in the industry, including:

  • Gary Vaynerchuk, CEO, VaynerMedia

  • Jim Lanzone, CEO, Yahoo

  • Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, ESPN

  • Will Grannis, CTO, Google Cloud

  • Reed Hastings, Chairman and Executive Chairman, Netflix

  • Ed Bastian, CEO, Delta

  • Gayle Troberman, Chief Marketing Officer, iHeartmedia Inc.

  • Joanna Burkey, Chief Information Security Officer, HP Inc.

Show-stopping moments included CEO of VaynerMedia, Gary Vee, discussing his approach on how to best leverage attention in order to capitalize on short-term trading opportunities via social media, global entrepreneur and #1 NY Times bestselling author, Tony Robbins closing the first day with a 3-hour long session, and Yahoo CEO Jim Lanzone saying his company is staying “humble” about its role in AI’s development — Yahoo will not be a “creator or manager” of new AI models, he said, but will use AI to enhance the products Yahoo already offers, like Yahoo mail and Yahoo Sports.

Attendees also learned that Salt Lake City is vying for its own MLB team! Mendenhall, Starks and Entrata CEO Adam Edmunds devoted his half-hour session to discussing why Salt Lake is the right place for an MLB expansion. University of Utah President Taylor Randall also teased a “massive announcement” about the university’s investment in AI coming in the next month.

Our team really enjoyed being on-site for Silicon Slopes Summit this year! We volunteered on Day 1 of the conference and helped fill swag bags, checked attendees in, and more.
