Event Spotlight: Climbing Into Tech at Silicon Slopes Summit 2022

Last week, more than 10k attendees took to Salt Lake City to experience the how-tos and advancements in all things business & tech. As one of the largest annual business & tech events in the world, the Silicon Slopes Summit aims to foster innovation through keynotes, in-depth breakout sessions, entertainment, and networking opportunities.

In addition to tuning in for speaker sessions, attendees were able to visit various sponsor booths that highlighted companies who make up Utah’s very own “Silicon Slopes,” which is the hub, and heart of Utah’s startup and tech community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Silicon Slopes aims to empower Utah’s startup and tech community to learn, connect, and serve in an effort to make entrepreneurship and opportunity accessible to all. 

The program featured leaders in both business and technology, including the CEO of G2, Chairwoman at Overstock, COO at Atlassian, CPO at Entrata, Director of Design at Nike, CEO of Divvy, CEO of Cotopaxi, CEO of Brandless, VP, Global Head at AWS, and more. Each morning, attendees were ushered to the main stage, where big names in business set out to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Jim Kwik, Founder of Kwik Brain, NYT Bestselling Author, and Celebrity Brain Coach, discussed his unique perspective on accelerated learning.

Aaron Skonnard, Co-Founder & CEO, Pluralsight, shared insights on the benefits of lifting all in the community.

Claire Coder, Founder & CEO, Aunt Flow (right), and Kristin Andrus from The Policy Project (left), had an impactful conversation about normalizing women’s health in the workplace.

The afternoons were made up of various breakout sessions, highlighted in Summit’s four tracks: Community, Ethos, Growth, and Future. 

Jake Wood, Founder & CEO of Groundswell, was interviewed by Silicon Slopes Executive Director Garrett Clark, where they discussed Purpose-Driven Community: How to Create an Organization with Impact.

Christina Cacioppo, Founder & CEO of Vanta, was interviewed by Erin Alberty, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter at Axios Utah, where they spoke on Break in case of emergency: How to recession-proof your startup.

Overall, attendees left Silicon Slopes feeling the buzz of entrepreneurship and looking forward to the future of tech!
