cred Goes West: Team Trips Recap 2023

From California to Connecticut, and a few states in between, our distributed team is based in several different locations from coast to coast. Since cred went fully remote earlier this year, we rolled out our new team trips to give employees an opportunity to spend more time with their teams in person.

Our event management team, Rise, and our three speaker management teams — Summit, The Gems, and The Iconics—packed their bags and traveled to meet their colleagues for a few days of team bonding, collaboration, and fun. We stayed at gorgeous Airbnbs, explored new cities, ate at amazing restaurants, and most importantly, connected with each other.

These team trips gave credians the opportunity to embody one of our values, “enjoy the show” — which means we stay present and appreciate all of our hard work. Let’s reflect on these memorable team trips that happened over the last few months.

Team Rise — Malibu, CA
While in Malibu, our event management team bonded over sipping cocktails/mocktails and playing games at their Airbnb, which has the most stellar view of the Southern California sunset. They also enjoyed morning walks on the beach and a sound bath that left them feeling energized. The team’s highlight activity was eating dinner at the star-studded restaurant, Nobu, where they ran into reality TV celebrity Jonathan Cheban (aka Foodgod).

Team Summit — La Jolla, CA
Team Summit ventured to La Jolla, a beach town north of San Diego known for sea lion sightings, scenic views, and surfer vibes. This team checked out Birch Aquarium, explored Balboa Park, and walked to La Jolla Cove. They also enjoyed dinner at Kettner Exchange in Little Italy, sipped on cocktails at a speakeasy, and caffeinated at Better Buzz, a popular coffee spot for locals.

The Gems — Seattle, WA
During their trip to Seattle, The Gems got to know each other better as they spent time in the Pacific Northwest city. They stayed in the Queen Anne neighborhood, making them walking distance from the city’s main attractions like the Space Needle, Pike’s Place Market, and the first Starbucks location. The Gems leaned into their competitive spirit and played games at the Airbnb in the evenings.

The Iconics — San Diego, CA
The Iconics had a fun-filled few days together, where the team explored the famous San Diego Zoo, and rode a historic roller coaster at Belmont Park. They ate Mexican food at Cafe Coyote for dinner in the historic Old Town neighborhood and snacked on sushi at Cannonball, a beachfront Japanese restaurant. They also enjoyed relaxing in the sun at Mission Beach and listening to a sound bath with crystal bowls that left them feeling refreshed and grounded.

These trips are just one of the many ways our distributed team stays connected here at cred. Next up, our entire team is meeting IRL in Salt Lake City, UT for our offsite and volunteering at a conference together! Looking forward to enjoying more memorable moments together as a team.
