Year in Review: Gratitude in 2019

As 2019 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the journey cred has traveled along this year. We maintain our focus on helping companies build thought leadership through events, and this past year we made considerable progress in our efforts to do just that.

Our journey is filled with different milestones—from those about learning, losses, and growth, to perseverance, partnerships, and successes. 2019 has taught us so much and we are full of gratitude.

Some of the highs across the business, company, and team:

Business

The more, the merrier.
From our humble beginnings representing 36 speakers in our first year, to the end of 2019, we are proud our client roster has grown with us! Today, we’re representing 100+ speakers from around the world. We are so grateful to be a part of our clients’ journeys, helping build their thought-leadership through speaking and having a presence at conferences.

Out and about.
This year, we connected more speakers to events than any other agency in the world. Our speaker team locked in 612 speaking opportunities for our clients, from San Francisco to Tokyo and everywhere in between! Our event management team was onsite in New York, LA, Atlanta, Paris, London, and D.C (to name a few), bringing 27 events to life (a new record!).

South by credWest.
Thousands gather at South by Southwest (SXSW) for a festival of film, media, music, and inspiring talks in Austin—just ask us, we were there! cred submitted 16 session proposals to be considered on the 2020 agenda. The result? Six confirmed sessions we can’t wait to unfold at 2020’s event! Looking ahead to next March, we’ll be tuning in for sessions from LiveIntent, Lemonlight, Hawke Media, Sisense, Memzy, and Ceros.

Company

The future is female.
We set an intention in January to actively seek inspiring women leaders and help them take the stage. Good thing there are so many out there! Today, more than half of our contracts include women speakers.

Wondering where you might see them on stage? Check out the top women entrepreneur events to bookmark in 2020!

We ate our own dog food.
I had fun moderating a culture panel this year at SaaStr Annual with clients Periscope Data (since acquired by Sisense) and LiveRamp. Watch the session for some great ideas around how to scale, but keep your company culture intact.

Hello, 49 Geary!
We spent 6+ months analyzing spaces, reviewing designs, and thinking through every square inch of credHQ. We’re proud to have had the opportunity to build and curate a space that reflects who we are and the values of our organization. Come say hi if you find yourself in the Financial District.

Team

Mind(ful) your business.
In September, cred launched our first-ever Wellness Week—a full week dedicated to de-stressing, resetting, and reminding ourselves to stay mindful of our emotional and physical health. Hosted by cred’s Culture Club, our internal team dedicated to company fun and festivities, Wellness Week incorporated athleisure, cold-pressed juices, meditation sessions courtesy of clients Muse and meditation.live, face masks, and yoga. The week was a huge reminder of the importance of incorporating wellness at work to boost productivity, creativity, and happiness—with athleisure during the workday being a huge plus!

Four is the magic number.
Four was a huge number for cred in 2019. In addition to turning four since our founding in 2015, we celebrated four 4-year cred anniversaries by gifting four Away suitcases to those here with us from the beginning! Each anniversary (ie: crediversary), cred recognizes its employees with a special token to show how much we value those on our team.

Trick or retreat.
Every November, we take the company out of the office for a day and a half offsite retreat to look back on successes, brainstorm next year’s game plan, and get to know each other outside the office. This year, cred took the team for an overnight stay in Pacifica, where we chatted through cred goals, values, and plans looking into 2020.

It was a busy, fulfilling year across the board and we are excited looking into what is next to come. Wishing everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! See you in 2020.
