A Helping Hand: Serving Our City Through credService

November is more than the second to last month of the year—it’s also National Gratitude month. At cred, we have a lot to be grateful for, especially as we reflect back on 2019. This year, we planned and attended lots of events, moved into our new office, and—for the first time—had multiple summer interns

As a PR agency based in the heart of San Francisco, we’re grateful for the city we call home and enjoy partnering with local organizations through credService. credService is our community service initiative, where we participate in quarterly volunteer activities around San Francisco to contribute to our community.

In 2019, we partnered with multiple organizations, including At The Crossroads, OneBrick, and Hamilton Families. Recently, we started partnering with another incredible organization called St. Francis Living Room.

St. Francis Living Room serves breakfast five days a week to elderly in need in the Tenderloin neighborhood. Our team volunteered multiple mornings this summer to help prepare and serve food at the buffet line, chat with people while they enjoy their breakfast, clear tables, and wash dishes. We even enjoyed some live comedy, hearing jokes from a friendly gentleman who came through our buffet line. Besides the wonderful time connecting with the community, we loved working alongside St. Francis Living Room staff and volunteers who showed us the ropes and made us feel right at home.

As you can probably tell by now, we love volunteering at St. Francis Living Room—so much that we decided to run a “Jam & Jacket Drive” collecting donations. The cred team brought in jars of jam, a necessary and beloved condiment at every Living Room breakfast, and jackets that were looking for a new home. After dropping off our contributions, we found out one of the jackets already had a new owner just hours later.

Our vision at cred is to make environments that inspire. This vision translates to our credService initiative, as we partner with local organizations making an impact in San Francisco, inspiring the people they serve, and making a peaceful environment for people to enjoy a nutritious breakfast that inspires them throughout their day, while simultaneously inspiring us behind the buffet line.

In honor of National Gratitude month, we encourage you to practice gratitude and consider how you can give back to your community. Interested in volunteering at one of credService’s favorite organizations? Use the links below.
