Culture and Service at cred: A Summer Recap

The summer season requires all hands on deck to help manage speaking opportunities and event planning at cred, but it also requires us to have some summer fun in between. Let’s take a look back at the activities hosted by cred’s Culture Club and credService teams over these last few months.

Culture Club

Remote Summertime Scavenger Hunt
To kick off the summer season, our remote folks participated in a scavenger hunt where we raced to find the summer essentials. Items on the list included your favorite summer hat, a refreshing drink, and a beach bag.

Wellness Week
This year we continued a cred tradition: Wellness Week. We took the week to focus on our health and mental well-being through activities like morning meditations, yoga, outdoor walks, and a week-long step challenge.

Baking Class
In July, one of our teammates led a virtual baking class to teach us how to make her top-secret ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies. We may have made a bit of a mess, but it’s safe to say the cookies did not disappoint.

Drink, talk learn (DTL): Guilty Pleasure TV Shows
Continuing another cred tradition, we hosted a virtual drink, talk, learn PowerPoint party. Presenters chose their favorite guilty pleasure TV show, and each did a 3-minute presentation giving the team the full rundown of what makes the show so great and any fun facts about it. At the end, votes were cast on the most creative, most entertaining, and best presentation.

Giants Game
To wrap up August, cred went to Oracle Park and attended a Giants game. It was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Night, and they gave out Hogwarts custom house-themed Giants hats. We sat in the bleacher section and enjoyed delicious ballpark food. Although the Giants didn’t win, it was fun to spend time outside the office and support our local team.

credService

We organized a beach cleanup at Ocean Beach in San Francisco for our second service opportunity of the year.

We met up at Ocean Beach Cafe and made our way to the beach with our gloves and empty trash bags. Once we stepped onto the beach, we noticed tons of trash and got to work, filling three bags full of garbage. A beach cleanup has been a highly requested service opportunity, so it was great to be able to make this happen and contribute to the environment and the local community.
